This special occasion celebrates the efforts of active members of your local in representation of your membership in strike preparation and leadership, health & safety, community activism, and social justice in the workplace.

Who was Oliver Doyle?
Oliver Doyle (1933-2007) was a long-time Kingston labour activist who lived through the last years of Kingston’s industrial waterfront and into the new millenium and its new challenges. In the early 1960s, Oliver became active with UE Local 522 on Kingston’s industrial waterfront at the Millard & Lumb metal works. For the latter half of the 1970s, Doyle served as Kingston & District Labour Council, and afterwards remained a dedicated labour and community activist.
